Arnett Gardens Coach Prove ‘Waite’ in Gold by Winning CHEC Award
Hardly any room was left at the Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon as football fans stood on the roofs of neighbouring houses and buildings to watch an engrossing game between Arnett Gardens and Humble Lion Football Clubs on March 9th. With his team in the spotlight Coach Jerome ‘Jerry’ Waite had one more reason to be excited as he was chosen as the China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) Star Coach for Round Two of the Red Stripe Premier League. The presentation was made during half time of Monday night’s football game where Jerry was presented with a cash prize of $75,000 and a commemorative plaque.

CHEC continues work on the Bog Walk Gorge in Jamaica
As of January next year motorists will no longer have to use the dangerous Bog Walk Gorge in St Catherine, and travel time from Kingston to Ocho Rios in St Ann will be cut to less than 50 minutes, down from an approximate one-hour-and-forty-five- minute drive.

CHEC to Build $30M Movie Towne Complex in Guyana
China Harbour Engineering (T&T) Ltd., (CHEC) signed a contract in early December for the construction of Movie Towne Guyana. The US$ 30M agreement, between China Harbour and Derek Chin, Chairman of Movie Town Cineplex, includes the construction of entertainment facilities, restaurants and commercial space. The project is expected to be completed in 18 months

CHEC Donates Motor Vehicles to the Jamaica Constabulary Force
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has received two new motor vehicles to boost its capacity to provide traffic management and security along the North/South leg of Highway 2000. The vehicles, a Toyota Hiace bus and a Toyota pickup, were donated by the management of China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) Limited.
